Newport Area Environment Group Website
Back to HELPHow to add minutes to the minutes page
There is a minutes page on the website at https://naeg.org.uk/minutes and available under ABOUT NAEG in the menu.
To add the next set of minutes to this page, please follow these instructions. Since most of the time people will want to see the most recent set of minutes the minutes are organised in reverse date order.

- First, upload the minutes to the NAEG website from the dashboard.
Click Media and then Add New. It is worth giving the file a useful name that will explain the date and type of meeting (for example). This name is the default when uploaded.
Just drag and drop the file into the upload area, or you can browse to locate the file. The file will retain the name you gave it when preparing the document. You can subsequently change this when uploaded from MEDIA / Edit. - Now open PAGES (this is a page, not a post) and locate the minutes page. Edit it (by clicking edit under the page name).
- The minutes are listed in a "classic edit block", most recent first. Add the next set of minutes at the top..
- Place your cursor at the start of the top line listing the most recent set of minutes and hit ENTER. This will create a new blank list item at the top as shown.
- Now click the button Add media. See picture – the red arrow points to it. Locate the file you just uploaded in the media library, and click Insert into page.
- Now edit the name of the document if you want different text to show to better describe the document.
- Finally, when satisfied all is correct, just click UPDATE to save your changes.

The minutes list uses a classic block as this enables the list to be compact. This may seem complex but it is really quick once you are used to it.
