‘Retrofitting Houses’ talk

RETROFITTING HOUSES TALK BY BRIAN MARK 19/5/11

Newport Area Environment Group is facilitating a series of talks by local experts covering a range of environmental subjects relevant to Pembrokeshire. The first such talk, on 19th May, by Brian Mark on ‘Retrofitting Houses” was well attended by an audience which included several local architects, National Park planners and a former Government Advisor for the Environment.

There followed an informal, lively and lengthy discussion.

Brian Mark is Director of Mott Macdonald Fulcrum (international engineering design consultants for the world’s first zero carbon city), expert in the engineering of sustainable cities, member of the UK Government Renewables Advisory Board, lead contributor to Commission for Architecture & Built Environment Sustainable Cities Web based resource tool, Eco-towns design panel member, founding partner of Fulcrum (founder members of the UK Green Building Council and engineering designers of the lowest energy UK university building 100,000 zero carbon homes).

These talks are expected to attract experts in related fields, planners, councillors and others, in order to both inform and promote lively debate.
